Taking A Vacation?
by Paul D. Fisher May 28,2000

School is out and it really is beginning to feel like summer. Summer brings fun things homemade ice cream, swimming and for many vacations. It is a time to go away from the normal routine of getting up and going to school or work, a time for the family to spend together in the car going to some far away place like maybe Branson, St. Louis or even farther. Maybe your plans for a vacation include going to see some loved one who lives a long way from here.
There are many important things to remember when taking a vacation, like someone to take care of the dog or cat, either stopping the mail or having someone to pick it up for you, making sure you turn off the coffee pot. Oh there are so many things that people do to get ready for vacation. If your family is like mine you probably have your own unique things that you go through to get ready for vacation.
What do you consider the most important thing to get ready for vacation? Checking the car out!  making sure you have made motel  reservations! Where on the list is making sure you know where you will worship God on Sunday and Wednesday? Just think how good it makes you feel to see visitors stop here when they are on vacation. Are you returning that favor when you are gone? Remember also that the local work continues to go on, even when you go on vacation. Be sure you remember God in all your vacation plans! Have a happy, safe vacation!
