First, Second & Third John,
by Paul D. Fisher
"First John, is the epistle of Fellowship and in it John, "by inspiration of God, set forth five keys about fellowship. They are: (1) What fellowship is; (2) How fellowship is established; (3) How after establishing fellowship it can be maintained; (4) How fellowship can be broken; and (5) How fellowship can be restored. Like the gospel beating his name, John wrote this gospel so that we might gain heaven by faithful obedience to the will of God.

The epistle of Second John seems to have been a personal letter written either to a congregation or an individual. It was written to encourage Christians to maintain their right relationship with God through loving obedience to His will. Truth and God's love seem to go hand in hand in this epistle. There is also a warning against helping those who do not stay in Christ. Do not help them spread their false doctrine by even bidding them God speed,
because this inakes you a partaker in their false doctrine. Third John, is an epistle about three men, Gaius to whom the epistle is addressed, who is well beloved by John;"Diotrephes, whom John co!ademned for his attitude and actions in the church; and Demetrius, .who stands as example of a good Christian because he is living by the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
